Java User Group Meetup: Thursday, June 19th, 6:30 PM

The next meeting of the Memphis Java User Group will be held Thursday, June 19th @ 6:30 PMPlease RSVP at: http://www.meetup.com/memphis-technology-user-groups/events/188145612/

This month we will explore Processing, a cross-platform collection of Java-based tools and libraries for creating data-driven visuals and animations. From the Processing website:
Processing is a programming language, development environment, and online community. Since 2001, Processing has promoted software literacy within the visual arts and visual literacy within technology. Initially created to serve as a software sketchbook and to teach computer programming fundamentals within a visual context, Processing evolved into a development tool for professionals. Today, there are tens of thousands of students, artists, designers, researchers, and hobbyists who use Processing for learning, prototyping, and production.
You can download Processing and check out lots of examples, tutorials and more on the website http://www.processing.org/

If you would like to present a short lightning talk (about 5-15 minutes) on ANY developer-related subject, there is plenty of availability. Contact us on TwitterMeetup, or the Mailing List. Lightning talks are a great way to practice presenting technical topics and get experience with public speaking, with the comfort of a smaller, relaxed audience. A few suggestions for topics are features of Java, JVM languages, developer tools (editors, debuggers, etc.), workflows, libraries, other languages, frameworks, a problem/solution you worked or interesting experience, etc.

Meeting Location:
