The next meeting of the Memphis Java User Group will be held Thursday, April 17th @ 6:30 PM. Please RSVP at: http://www.meetup.com/memphis-technology-user-groups/events/173788722/
This month, I wanted to do something that gets the whole group talking, instead of one person speaking to an audience, so this will be Share Your Project month. Come prepared to show off and talk about one of your code projects with the rest of the group! Sharing isn't mandatory, but the more we have, the better.
Showcase the features, explain the architecture, talk about the code, share your challenges and lessons learned, and whatever else you want to say. Is it an open-source or collaborative project? Tell others in the group how they can support or contribute. Don't have any current Java projects? That's okay! Show us something in another language, show us some of your tools and workflow, a framework you like, or even a book or tutorial you found very useful.
There's no need to prepare slides or anything like that; this will be a laid back night. We'll gather around your screen or you can show us on the projector if you'd prefer. Just be ready for some great group discussion!
I'll be sharing the Midsouth Parks and Greenways app for Android that several local developers worked on at GiveCamp Memphis for the Mid South Greenways Steering Committee.
If you would like to present a short lightning talk (about 5-15 minutes) before we all share, we still have availability. Contact us on Twitter, Meetup, or the Mailing List.
