Java User Group Meeting: Thursday, April 17th @ 6:30pm

Our speaker this month is Daniel Lissner, presenting on Java 8.
Java SE 1.8 has officially released! Long-awaited new features bring functional-style programming idioms into the Java universe, including Lambda functions, additions/changes to Interfaces, serial and parallelized data Streams, and more. We'll take a look at some of these new language features and the API additions that support them by interactively coding examples and exploring their behavior.
Daniel Lissner is a local computer scientist and software engineer. He received his Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Math from the University of Memphis in 2011, where he did interdisciplinary research involving wireless sensor networks. He currently works as a software developer and engineer at Mosaik Solutions, a world leader in geospatial data intelligence solutions. Daniel is currently the organizer of the Memphis Java User Group and an active member of the #memtech community.
